Iceland Direct Tours

A tour operator's website has one job: turn someone who is curious into someone who has paid. The old site sent that person somewhere else to finish the booking, and a good share of them never arrived.

Iceland Direct Tours, the site we built

The problem

Tours were listed well enough, but booking happened off site. Every handoff is a place to lose someone, and this one came at the exact moment the visitor had decided to buy. The site also carried the weight of three earlier rebuilds, so it was slow on the phones most travellers actually use.

What we did

We rebuilt it design first, deciding how it should look and read before writing a line of code, then built it as a static site so it loads fast on a hotel connection. Bokun booking is embedded in the tour pages themselves, so the visitor books where they already are. This was the third rebuild that site had been through, so every old address was mapped to its new home rather than left to break, and the search ranking came across with it.

Where it stands

The build is complete and scoring in the nineties for performance with perfect accessibility, best practices and SEO. Booking is live in the page. It is live.
